Mother Jones is showing a round-up of all the Newt Gingrich stories they've done over the past 27 years, along with the illustrations that accompanied them, and my Newt Guru is the Grand Finale -- an illustration I particularly like.

I really admire your work, Zina and I think you are one of the most freshly original illustrators working today. I think the Overlooked New York series is fantastic and I love your willingness to branch out and do other work like animation and journalism. Its remarkable to see how you give your interviewees a voice in your work and how you try to capture their essence in your portraits of them.
Your work inspires me to try new things in order to keep my work from being static and dull. Thank you for sharing your work with the rest of us and keep producing work that challenges how we view art in its respect to our culture. You truly are one of a kind.
